First Step

All it takes is the first step. On May 28th, 2018 I decided it was time to begin planning to sell my sports performance facility and begin my pursuit of becoming a college strength coach. After sending over 100 emails and only receiving three replies, my wife and son got in my Chevy Tahoe and headed down to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. My wife and son headed back and we said our goodbyes. What was initially going to be two months of preseason training turned into 8 months and getting hired as an assistant football strength coach at Louisiana Tech, selling my business June 1st, 2019, and eventually heading back to PA and becoming the Director of Sports Performance at Albright College. I was away from my family for a total of 14 months. During this time I had more ups than downs but the downs were extreme lows. Self doubt, paralyzing fear of losing everything, and wondering if it was all worth it. You will never make up missed time and I knew if I was going to be away from my family and miss birthdays and anniversaries that I need to make it count. Here is a video of some of my adventure. Every day I run…whether I feel like it or not. During my run I have time to do reflection, dreaming, and planning.

I often wonder why I run and this morning it hit me. Everyone has a pattern of how their past has made them who they are….what happened has happened and couldn’t have happened any other way because it didn’t.

It’s been almost 4 years since I’ve had my last drink and every day I’m running away from that person. This morning I ran at 4am instead of coming home wondering why I was destroying my life.

We can change our history…we can’t change the facts but we can change the narrative
We have never been a victim of circumstance but a beneficiary of circumstance…we will always attract in order to reveal why we are still confined

Keep running towards positive and create the narrative you want.


I’ve always believed that once someone identified their talent if they worked hard at it, they could become it. I still feel this way. I’ve seen many people take bad habits and develop good ones and turn negatives into positives. I even wrote a book about it. The next time you catch yourself blaming others for your shortcomings, stop yourself. We deserve exactly what we work for…entitlement is the belief that one is inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment. Don’t be that person….believe in empowerment.

Empowerment is the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights. Empower yourself today and every day. You deserve it….now go make it happen.

Don’t Sleep Walk Through Life

We sleep for one-third of our life. Make sure you don’t sleepwalk through the other two-thirds. Wake up and be a battery. Energize yourself and those around you. Avoid dead batteries at all costs. Empty the tank today. After you kick today’s ass, go to bed empty. Go to bed empty and wake up recharged and do it all again. Let’s gooooo!!!!


Hey everybody it’s coach Brader…It’s Monday morning and I’m fired up. Desire is different from ambition….everyone has the desire but do you have ambition. Ambition is the engine that gets you moving. What I’m about to say next is a little tricky….We can’t mistake movement for progress…just because you’re doing a lot doesn’t mean you’re getting a lot done. Have ambition and do what’s necessary to reach your goal….no more, no less….go hard with what counts. Let’s go…..

Get Better

Hey everybody, it is Monday, and it is time to attack the week. Every day I meet with athletes, and the most common question is what do I need to do to reach my goals.  My answer is always the same. Don’t focus on being good; focus on getting better. People often think attributes are fixed. Things like IQ, personality, and physical characteristics are fixed, and regardless of what they do, they won’t improve. This is a losing mindset. Focus on growth and steady progress. Focus on tiny improvements instead of being the best. Before you know it, you will have experienced tremendous growth. There is a Japanese term called Kaizen. It stands for steady daily progress. Inch by inch eventually adds up to miles. Take the first step today and start the week off right, and when you do, you’ll be glad you did! Let’s goooooo!!! 

Why Not Me

All of us have had our share of ups and downs. If we didn’t, life wouldn’t be an adventure. I’ve developed this website to motivate, encourage, and inspire you to move closer to your goals. Regardless of what stage of life you are in, there is always room for improvement.

In my book, WHY NOT ME, I highlight some of my lowest points in my life as well share some of my greatest accomplishments. I give strategies that enabled me to overcome adversity and pursue my goals. Alcoholism almost killed me but it also is the reason I am who I am. For years I was ashamed of the man I became and didn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. However, because of my determination and will power, along with the support of my family, I was able to turn my life around. If you are reading this, I know that you want to take the first step to achieving your goals. Deciding is the first step to achievement. Once you decide to take that first step, all you need to do is continue moving forward. I look forward to sharing my story and strategies with you. I know that everything you need for success is inside you. Now it’s time to bring it out and help you become the person you were put on earth to be.
